Hi Brooke,
Love you work. First time I visited your site. You are way more creative than me.

I did want to tell you though that you mother goose geese are in fact ducks. The white ones are Peking ducks and the others are mallards. I'm a wildlife biologist so I am just being picky. But the image is awesome.

Reading this post this evening and the photograph that you posted along with it was almost like a sign for me. I am passionate about a lot of things whether it be photography, books, poetry, and mountain biking. Today I rode with a group of people that I felt I was not on par with. They were a lot more advanced riders. Then we came across a path just like the picture you posted. It was full of roots, rocks, water, and fallen debris and twigs. They road through it like it was nothing, careful not to disturb the landscape. I had difficulty with my balance and fell over, scraped my knee, and ended up with a muddy feet. But yet, the others riders made me feel like it was nothing. Pick yourself up and keep on riding. One of the riders took a photo of my bloody knee, and leg covered in mud. I smiled for the photo and she said, "I love it, your smiling!". In the end, we reached this beautiful granite quarry, which was worth the ride and the fall: so, with passion - sometimes comes doubt. But pick yourself up and keep on riding and keep enjoying what you do whether you're a seasoned pro, or not.

This is absolutely wonderful. I agree whole heartedly. I was recently diagnoses with L.L.I. and I notice the small details in the world that others don't, the way you describe your younger childhood is very similar to me. You're inspiring and thanks to you I am excited for my future in photography and music! My passions for life.

Ohmy, I'm happy that you'll come to Holland! Too bad that I don't have enough money to pay for a workshop. Oh well, maybe next time?

Thank you for sharing your positive and encouraging words so often. The truth behind them always makes your blog a worthwhile and inspiring read. Finding and nurturing this inner strength is something we all need to remember as artists, and your candor is much appreciated. :)

I'm scared of this, because it's not always true. My brother had a passion for hockey, he lived it breathed it woke it slept it, and he was good, almost good enough, and then one knee injury later his entire dream came crashing around his life and he turned to some really harsh ways of dealing with it that really messed up his life. It's a privilege to be able to do what you love. Not everyone is that lucky.

I love looking at older work, my own or others as it proves that there is always opportunities to grow. Whenever I feel like going through and getting rid of some of my older photos I'll get a messsage or comment from someone saying that they appreciated looking back to see where I started and where I've moved to, posting on the internet is a progression of time, it's a chance to document your growth and I love it :)
