My new photo “The Sacrificial Lamb” is inspired by my favorite painting, “The Young Martyr” by Paul Delaroche.

When I was younger, in high school, I used to have this painting in poster form. It was always my favorite, probably simply for the death factor. And then I really started studying it. The man in the upper left poses so many questions. Is he murdering her? Is he saving her? And her expression, she looks so happy to be dead.
I just don’t do halos. I spent the day with my friend from Norway, Natasha. You guys probably know her as NorwayNatasha on flickr. We had never met before, and it was a fantastic time. She is the most genuine person I have ever met.
