A Study in Movement

I am increasingly drawn to painting as a form of expression, though I could not afford the tools to actually paint a picture. So naturally, I look to photography as my means of speech. I challenge myself day after day to make my photographs look like painting, in fact, it has become an obsession. I search the internet for hours looking for that one painting that I think I could replicate in photo. I found one yesterday, a beautiful blue painting of men in motion blur, dancing. Yet it was not just dancing, it was swaying, reaching, grasping – it was desperate. I feel like I won’t be able to create anything else until I recreate that painting. And that is as it should be. This was my pre-cursor to the painting – wetting my feet, if you will, testing the waters to see if I could even begin to replicate it.

Now I’m searching for the right costume, a full-body, skin-toned spandex suit. Sound random?

Ha, i like your new obsession. I say keep obsessing and keep going at it till you’re satisfied. the best one so far, i think, is the photo where you’re blowing into your thumb, it looks like shiny oil paint

    Hello,
This may be very very random, but you mentioned at the bottom of this post that you wanted a skin toned body suit… well as it happens, my family business makes custom athletic clothing, we specialize in body suits (Unisuits) for rowing and track.
If you still need one let me know and i can work with you to make one specific to your body.
here is the website: http://www.jlracing.com (click on the track and field button then the catalog ;-) there is a lot of information there so you can call me if you have questions!
sorry for the plug, just thought it might help if you havent found that perfect fit!
oh and i absolutely love your site, your words and your creations! they are beautiful and inspiring. And i would be more than interested in purchasing a print. How would i go about doing that?
